Welcome to The Rehab Cheat Sheet
Hi there! I’m Amy, a speech-language pathologist with two decades of experience, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my corner of the internet. This blog is all about sharing my experiences, resources, time-saving tips, and therapy ideas to help therapists like you do what you do best—Rehabilitation.
A Bit About Me
My career in speech therapy started with a dream of working in schools, but life had other plans. I’ve journeyed through pediatric private practice, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospitals, and even ran my own private practice specializing in FEES and swallowing treatment until the pandemic had other ideas.
Now, I remotely manage a large private practice while continuing to explore ways to make therapy easier and more effective for the providers that I manage. My passion lies in adult therapy, particularly brain injury, stroke recovery, swallowing, and dementia care. That said, I’ve also dabbled in pediatric therapy, giving me a well-rounded perspective on our field.
Why This Blog?
As therapists, we wear many hats—clinician, educator, innovator, and sometimes magician (how else do you explain getting all of those notes done on time?). But let’s face it: the non-clinical aspects of our jobs—planning, documentation, finding the perfect resource or exercise—can be overwhelming.
Over the years, I’ve supervised students and CFYs, mentored colleagues, and created countless materials to make therapy more functional and efficient. I realized there was a bigger opportunity here: to share my knowledge and resources with therapists across the country and beyond.
What You’ll Find Here
